Diuretic properties of various parts of raspberries

Fruits, branches, leaves, flowers and roots are diuretics. Today, opinions are divided on what is better to use as a diuretic. In diuretic collections, there are mainly leaves and berries. But the berry is considered the most diuretic part of the raspberry. The diuretic properties of the shrub are due to the composition. Therefore, in order to determine the diuretic qualities of fruits and leaves, you need to know their active components.

Raspberries as a diuretic

Raspberries contain potassium. Doctors point to the ability of this trace element to bind sodium in the body, which causes water retention. By regulating the potassium-sodium balance, diuretic raspberries help restore water-salt metabolism and alkaline balance. Of all parts of the plant, raspberries are recognized as the best diuretic. The diuretic properties of the fruits of the plant are enhanced if they are mixed with linden flowers (they take the same amount of raw materials). The berries of the shrub, along with moisture, remove toxins. Therefore, they are used for hangovers.

Raspberry roots and leaves as winter diuretics

The chemical composition of the leaves and roots are similar to berries. But in each part of the plant, some substances are more, others less. For example, leaves contain more ascorbic acid than fruits. Therefore, being a strong diuretic, they also support immunity. This is important in the cold "cold" season. The roots are endowed with similar qualities. But they additionally have a more pronounced expectorant effect, especially with prolonged coughing, when there is inflammation in the roots of the lungs. The roots and leaves of the shrub are known for their astringent qualities, which helps to cure diarrhea.

To whom raspberry is contraindicated as a diuretic

The berries of the plant in excessive quantities can cause diarrhea, increase pressure due to the abundant removal of fluid from the body. Pregnant women do not need to overeat berries, because of a possible allergy in the unborn child. Some of the properties of the leaves that were used by herbalists are disputed by modern medicine. For example, the use of a decoction of the leaves by pregnant women. It was given when labor was delayed. And at the same time it was considered a mild natural diuretic to prevent edema, which also prevents miscarriage in early pregnancy. Today it has been proven that the active substances contained in the green parts of the plant can cause uterine muscle contractions. The berries of the bush are allergenic, so for young children, the fruits are the last on the list of permitted diuretics.
