Cove Beach (Κοβιού)
Family beach Kovyu (Κοβιού) is located in Sithonia, it is the middle finger on the Halkidiki peninsula. The water has a greenish color and fantastic fine, besides white sand. The beach is 2 km from the beach of St. John. To get to the beach, you need to leave your the vehicle is in a small parking lot, next to the main road, there is a sign that points to the coast. The beach is not difficult to get to, but if you have small children you need to be careful, the path leading to the sea is narrow. small, there are always few people on the beach, even on a hot weekend in August. People usually prefer the large adjacent beaches of St. John (Αϊ Γιάννη), or Monaški (Καλόγριας). In any case, be sure to come earlier. You must have your own umbrellas, there are no sunbeds as the beach is not organized
From this beach, you can enjoy a beautiful sunset in the evening when the sky is of amazing color. Don't miss this!

I represent one of the most famous beaches of Sithonia, the so-called Armenistis beach
It is located in the eastern part of Sithonia, 15 km after Vourvourou, it is almost impossible to make a mistake in finding this beach, as a huge cluster of cars will open in front of you .. You can type in Google Earth and see the length and width of this beach, with fine velvet sand. located opposite Mount Athos.Sometimes in the evenings, in the bars along the beach, discos are organized until the morning

Tristinka beach (τριστινικα)
It is a spacious sandy beach located in the southern part of Sithonia, not far from the village of Toroni, fine white sand and bluish-green water make it an ideal contradiction with the mountainous terrain of the place.

The beach is easily accessible and there are many car parks, even in high season.

Tristinka beach stretches for one and a half kilometers. In the western part of the beach, there is a small rocky promontory with a bar. This is the old and famous Ethnik bar, which plays national music and has a wide selection of drinks and light snacks. I recommend going there in the late afternoon. If you want to watch a magnificent sunset, do not forget to have your camera with you :))
Tristinka is not only a beautiful and clean beach, but also an amazing place, with the nature characteristic of Sithonia

And so, I continue to present to your attention the beaches of Sithonia, on the Halkidiki peninsula. This time we will go to the southeast of Sithoni, not far from the village of Sarti, we will find a place that somewhat resembles a piece of an island, this is Kriaritsi (Κρυαρίτσι). Geographically, this is the closest beach to Mount Athos. It is interesting that once, according to the idea of the local authorities, it was planned to build a small village here !!! Initially, the construction of roads began, and then due to bureaucracy, drawings and construction plans are stuck for many years and are gathering dust on the shelves in some institution ... The lawsuits dragged on for many years, and we inherited chaotically asphalted roads near the beach

Karidi Beach (Καρύδι)
This beach is considered by the Greeks to be the "diamond" of Sithonia
It can also be called an exotic beach with turquoise water and white sand.
Two small rocky promontories create a beautiful bay in the eastern part of Vourvourou, highlighting the uniqueness of this place. As the beach faces the northeast, it is protected from the southern winds that prevail in Sithonia during the summer. Thus, the water is almost always calm and warm. In addition, it is not deep there, you can walk several tens of meters into the sea.
Note that the area is small and therefore crowded during the summer, high season. Therefore, if you want to avoid the crowds, you must arrive early in the morning.
Access to the beach is easy, provided you know how to get there. There is a country road leading to the beach, but it is difficult to find signs leading to the beach.

Moving along Sithonia to its eastern part, you will notice changes in the morphology of the landscape. The place becomes rugged with fewer trees, sheer cliffs colliding with the waves of the Aegean Sea. On your way you will come across a large beach at the southern tip of Sithonia. This is Kalamitsi.
In fact, Kalamitsi is not only a beach. There are several villages, which mainly consist of apartments, villas and hotels. There are also restaurants, bars, supermarkets and other shops. So you can stay there and not just swim.
Kalamitsi is a place of extraordinary beauty. Rocks with low vegetation are dominant, however there are trees. The sea is blue-green as always, and a sandy beach surrounded by white rocks.
Kalamitsi is a large bay, consisting of three small bays. There is a camping.

Beautiful beaches of Sithonia (Halkidiki) Vinsky Forum August 8th, 2013

After last year's trip to the Greek islands and exploring the beaches on island of Zakynthos , Kefalonia island and on the island of Lefkada, what I saw in Sithonia convinced me that the best sea is in Greece.

It's scary to watch - the water is so crystal-clear that you start to be afraid of heights while in the water (it's scary to fall to the bottom)
And the softness, absence of waves and the pushing properties of the sea sometimes threaten to sleep away from the coast

Sithonia, unlike another finger from the trident of Halkidiki - Kassandra, I liked my favorite color combination of turquoise with aquamarine of the sea, delicate green of pine forests and deep blue sky, slightly stained with clouds.
And there are fewer people here than on Kassandra - the central part of the eastern coast of Sithonia is mountainous and protected.
Therefore, here you will not find these huge hotels "a la russe", and the audience is more and more autotraveling or young, untethered.

There are many beaches here.
But I'll tell you about two that I liked and that I would like to return to:

First .
As a landmark signpost Bahia beach.
It will be 6 km south of the resort village of Vourvourou, about which I wrote separately
But the target is not Bahia beach. Target - Porto Elea camping & bungalows

This is a small campsite.
Very nice and cozy.
It seems to me that the co-owners are Bulgarians, since there are a lot of caravan trailers and boats with Bulgarian numbers in the campsite.
Well, or Bulgarians know a lot about places of rest.

The bay occupied by the campsite is small.
Surrounded by high cliffs.
The beach is small pebbles mixed with sand.

The entry into the sea is smooth and calm.
Almost immediately deep.
There are almost no waves.
The sea is so transparent that many times I regretted that I did not have a camera with me in the water - I would get very beautiful photos.

The beach is organized and those who live in the campsite have a sun lounger and an umbrella, but part of the bay is wild and there you can throw a towel and calmly swim and sunbathe.
You can also rent a motor boat on the beach and take a walk along the neighboring bays - they are completely wild and can only be accessed from the water.
You can add a spinning rod to the boat, and if you ask very much, they will give you an echo sounder.
Not free, of course.

There is a bar and a tavern on site.
The prices are normal and a gin and tonic or a glass of cold white wine will help you catch the feeling of happiness - it is there and it is here and now.
A barrier will not allow you to enter the campsite, but you can leave the car before or after entering on the side of the road and walk ashore.

Further south there are bays with campgrounds, but for some reason I didn't like them.
I didn't even want to go downstairs.
And one of the campsites seemed like mini-Shanghai: there are a lot of people, very loud music and the beach is littered with bodies, bodies, bodies ...

Second

The second beach, which I liked, is located 16 km north of the city of Sarti. Well, or 16 km south of the first beach.
Called Orange Beach
Cars park in the forest and then walk to the beach.
The surrounding of the beach is a pine forest and hillocks, maybe that's why they didn't build a camping here and there is only one mobile kiosk with snacks and beer in the entire territory.

This place, as in the 60s and 70s, is the place of wild autotourists who make awnings from sheets, cook on primus and swim until they turn blue.

Turquoise water, sand setting.
Almost immediately deep.
Many people with fishing rods and spearguns are shooting octopuses.

Since the beach itself is very small and it is occupied by those who first arrived (although they saw several tents - apparently they stay for the night),
the rest invent exotic rookeries on stones, rocks and in the water

This is the second favorite place in Sithonia - Orange Beach
It is possible that I missed something and advise a thankless task, but nevertheless, I advise you to visit and relax on these beaches of Sithonia

In general, there are many beaches in Sithonia. Lots of campgrounds. Lots of sea and sun

“Two residents of Thessaloniki go to heaven after death. Look around.
- Beauty, eh?
- Yes, it's good here, of course, but you can't compare with Halkidiki. "
Greek joke
One of the most picturesque places in Greece is undoubtedly the Chalkidiki peninsula, which has a bizarre shape, thanks to which it is often called the "Poseidon's trident".

An ancient legend says that two titans, Seton and Athos (Athos), fought among themselves for the beautiful nithma of Pallini. The noise of the fight awakened Poseidon and in anger he threw his trident. This is how three elongated “finger” peninsulas were formed in the Aegean Sea: Pallini, Sithonia and Athos, separated by two bays with the purest turquoise water. Pallini was later renamed after the king Kassandra in the 4th century. BC e.

Due to this geographical feature, the sea between the "fingers" is almost always calm, and if sometimes a strong wind blows from one side, it means that on the other side of the peninsula the water will be like a mirror. Therefore, advice: watch the wind, take the car and move to the appropriate, calm side. Closer to the end of the coast, the “fingers” become more reef, forming many small and large bays, passing one into the other. They have become the hallmark of Halkidik - with white or yellow sand, in some places framed with bizarre stones. The sea in them plays in the sun with all shades of turquoise. And above all this splendor are coniferous forests that stretch along the entire coast. The terrain in Halkidiki is quite mountainous, the further, the more.

There are no large industrial cities and large ports in Halkidiki, and small fishing villages and villages are located along the coast. And, of course, there are many hotels for every taste and budget.

The most touristy "finger" is Kassandra. Most of the hotels and villages with a corresponding developed infrastructure are located right here. Long sandy beaches with a variety of beach bars attract with trendy music and cocktails. The relaxed audience on the sun loungers by night is replaced by lovers of disco in the moonlight - in this rhythm Cassandra lives all summer.
In Sithonia, on the contrary, there is a nature reserve, there are very few hotels, lovers of peace and solitude, nature and relaxation in apartments and villas come here. And also in campsites. The latter are predominantly Greeks and Europeans. By sacrificing the comforts of five-star hotels, they know they are gaining in return - many of Sithonia's campsites are located in the most breathtaking coves with spectacular views.

Camping Vourvourou.

The road from Sithonia to the third "finger" is rather winding, civilization finally gives way to virgin nature: pine forests, heather bushes, fishing villages in cozy bays. This is Athos (as it is customary to call it in Russian, in Greek they speak Athos (Athos) or Agion Oros (Agion Oros, Holy Mountain), due to the fact that most of this peninsula is occupied by an independent monastic republic.
It is useless to argue which of the beaches of Halkidiki is the best - in taste and color ... However, choose for yourself.

Kassandra beaches.

The most popular tourist destination here is the village of Hanioti. The beach in the part where the main hotels are concentrated is a narrow strip of sand mixed with pebbles. In its central part, three meters from the shore, a stone slab lies in the water along the beach. It's okay, but the slab is rather slippery due to the small algae growing on it. Therefore, it is better to swim in rubber slippers. But what a beauty! And the kids in the shallow water expanse. The beaches in Hanioti are equipped with umbrellas and sun loungers. You can rent a jet ski for 20 euros per hour, a rowboat or pedal catamaran. There are many taverns along the beach where you can dine and cafes where you can order any kind of drinks.
And if you walk to the left or right of the central beach, then there will be much less people, and there will be no plates in the water.

Cassandra. The beach in Kalithea.

The central city beach of Hanioti. Village Hanioti located on the northern side of the Kassandra peninsula. The dark line behind the motorcycle is the stone slab. Cross it, and you will have soft sand under your feet.

All beaches in municipal, i.e. there are no private or hotel beaches. In Hanioti, the beaches are equipped with umbrellas and sun loungers. This pleasure is paid.

When the sea is stormy, it is all covered with white lambs. A strong wind is blowing and it becomes uncomfortable to swim. The tourist season in Halkidiki begins on May 1, but the bathing season starts a little later. The water warms up to 23 degrees by the beginning (if you're lucky) or by mid-June.

Beach in Pefkohori village (just after Hanioti). Sandy-pebble, in the central part of the village - narrow, sun loungers run right into the embankment, on which there are many taverns and cafes. However, walking along the sea in any direction from the center of the village, you can find more pleasant, wide and not crowded beaches at all. Pefkohori stretches along the sea for 3 km.

Another fairly popular holiday destination in Kassandra is the village of Polykhrono, located in front of Hanioti. In size, Polychrono is not inferior to the latter. There are also many hotels, taverns and all kinds of souvenir shops. The place is quite popular with tourists. The beach here is sandy, mixed with small, not sharp pebbles.

Paliouri beach

The beach is on the northeast side, at the tip of the first finger. The place is called Paliuri. Not every tourist will get here. But whoever does this will see a completely different Cassandra. Dense forests, quiet bays and the best fish taverns of the peninsula, away from the routes well-trodden by mass tourists.

And this is a wild beach in Paliouri. It is inconvenient to swim here, there are many sharp stones. Maybe sunbathe alone or go boating.

Southwest side of Kassandra. Beach in the village of Loutra. In this place, the beaches are sandy and pebbly, but the entry into the sea is good. It is pleasant to retire among these stones and bask in the sun. The village of Loutra is small, there are not many people. The famous thermal springs of Agia Paraskevi are located nearby.

Kassandra beaches

They are very diverse. At the end of the "finger" the road leads to the right and, having got to the western part of the peninsula, we continue to move along the sea.

On some beaches, during a storm, the sea water becomes not entirely clear and a lot of algae is thrown onto the shore by a wave. They are cleaned regularly after a storm.
Spit, located near the village of Possidi, is especially for those who like endlessly long and wide sandy beaches. Only sea and sand as far as the eye can see. Be aware that it is often windy here.

Sithonia beaches.

On the second "finger" there are a total of about 80 beaches, large and small, known to everyone and difficult to access, only for the initiated. We can say that Sithonia starts from the village of Nikiti. After it there is a fork, at which we decide where to go - to the western or eastern part of the peninsula.
The first beach on the western side of Sithonia is the famous Agios Ioannis, where there are almost never waves and there are three beach bars. Periodically, night concerts of Greek pop stars are held there.

Metamorfosi beach. The bottom on the beach in Metamorfosi is quite rocky in places, which is good news for snorkelers.

Sandy beach in Sithonia

Wild pebble beach in Sithonia

On the far left side of the beach there are interesting thickets and stones for snorkeling and fishing enthusiasts.

The water here is very clean.

Driving along the coast of Sithonia in the Neos Marmaras region, you will come across such thickets of coniferous trees on the steep coast. And there are secluded sandy beaches below. The inaccessibility is redeemed by the opportunity to enjoy this incredible beauty alone.

The sand in Toroni, especially in its right bay, has an incredibly rich yellow color and a very pleasant texture. You can have the perfect SPA foot massage right on the beach.

Beach in the bay of Porto Koufo. A naturally formed and almost closed bay, tightly, so to speak, even the sound of the sea is almost never heard. Hence the name ("kufos" in the translation from Greek - deaf), "deaf port", Porto Koufo. From ancient times to the present day, it has been an ideal natural marina for yachts and ships.

An amazingly beautiful beach in the northeastern part of Sithonia, in. There are very cozy bays here, and the water is crystal clear and warms up well at the beginning of June. You can rent a jet ski or catamaran, there is a diving club. There are taverns right next to the beach.
"The best of the best" - the beaches on the eastern side of the peninsula, some of them - overlooking Mount Athos directly opposite. Famous Armenistis, Portokali, Kavurotripes and many others ... Words lose their power here, this is a must-see!
Beaches at the base of the "third" toe.
All the beaches of this peninsula are located on both sides of it, but to the border with Saint Athos, located in the town of Ouranoupolis. The wide and long Trani Ammuda with delicate sand is located on the inner side of the "finger" - it is never crowded on it

And of course the famous Karidi Beach in Vourvourou. However, there are more and more people here every season, so it is worth paying attention to the neighboring beaches, as well as to the islets of the Diaporos group opposite. The village offers boat and water bike rentals. Along the entire coast of the village of Vourvourou, it is rather shallow, so the water near the coast warms up very early.

Among all this diversity, it is impossible to give the palm to any one beach, and it is not even necessary. It will be fair to say that among the locals there are not so many connoisseurs of all hidden places and paths to the cherished "piece of paradise". However, we hope that this article will help you a little to figure out which direction to head for you.

- a fabulous place, it is not surprising that legends are made about it in Greece. One of them is about how the peninsula of such an unusual shape appeared.

According to legend, in the confrontation between the gods and titans, Poseidon lost his trident, which formed the peninsula.

In a more romantic version, it is clarified that two titans, Seton and Athos, fought for the mermaid Palini, which made Poseidon angry and threw a trident at them.

Three fingers of Halkidiki, which protrude 120 km into the sea, were named after the heroes of the legend - Sithonia, Athos and Pallini, but the latter was later renamed Kassandra, in honor of Kassandra, the heir of Alexander the Great.

There are no large industrial ports in Halkidiki, only small fishing villages and all kinds of hotels.

Cassandra

Kassandra is the most popular finger not only among tourists, but also among locals, which in itself says a lot.

Despite the fact that it is quite densely populated, there is enough space for both pristine beaches with golden sand and untouched pine groves.

And also for an active holiday for every taste - on Kassandra you can find ancient temples, ancient ruins, and cheerful noisy discos on the beaches, where you can dance even around the clock.

In addition, Kassandra is the westernmost "finger" of Halkidiki, so it is here that you can enjoy the most picturesque sunsets.

The best beaches in Kassandra:

  • Hanioti
    - a village and a beach with a narrow sand and pebble strip and a smooth entry into the sea, in the central part separated from the depth by a stone underwater slab. There are many cafes and restaurants along the coast. This resort has a small but cozy Hanioti Grand Hotel 4 * with a beautiful view from the rooms. On the beach near the hotel there are paid umbrellas and sun loungers, you can rent a boat, catamaran, rowing boat.

  • Kallithea- a popular village and the eponymous beach with white sand and clear water. It has excellent infrastructure, many restaurants and water sports. In Kalithea, there is the Pallini Beach 4 * hotel, which offers visitors different accommodation options - in a bungalow and in the main building. The hotel is located right on the shore, leaving it, you find yourself on a clean and wide sandy beach.

  • Sled- a paradise for even the most discerning tourists, an elite resort with magnificent beaches, clear water, traditional Greek cuisine and music in taverns, a yacht harbor. Here is the SaniResort nature reserve, its area is 1000 hectares, which are planted with olive and pine groves.

On the territory of the reserve there are 4 luxury hotels of the highest level. SANIBEACHHOTEL & SPA - for outdoor activities, SANIBEACHCLUB & SPA - for relaxing in small bungalows with the family, PORTO SANI VILLAGE & SPA - a hotel with luxurious rooms, and the best of all - SANI ASTERIAS SUITES. If you want a truly royal holiday, this is definitely the place for you, because even Prince Charles stays in one of these hotels.

  • Sit down- a small village near Thessaloniki, surrounded by a pine forest. In addition to a sandy and pebble beach and a sand spit, here you will find the ruins of the Temple of Poseidon, a beautiful white lighthouse and noisy beach parties. If you like Possidi, here you can rent a house on the coast or pitch a tent in the area designated for camping.

  • Pefkohori- another village, built almost directly in a pine forest. Its beach, wide and spacious on the sides, and narrowing in the center so that getting up from a sun lounger, you can put your feet right into the sea, annually receives the honorary blue flag.

  • Nope Potidea- a resort located at the narrowest point of the Kassandra Peninsula. In addition to the beautiful nature, in Nea Potidea there are the ruins of an ancient fortress and city wall, an old church, several museums and the gate of Kassandra - a bridge over the Potidea canal, which connects the two bays - Thermaic and Toroneo.

Near this popular tourist destination, there is a tavern with excellent fish dishes. Of course, this resort is not deprived of excellent beaches and no less good hotels, such as the Potidea Palace Hotel, which overlooks Olympus.

  • Glarokavos It was once a wild and deserted beach, but now it is an actively developing place, offering tourists umbrellas in sun loungers and active sports, but has not lost its virgin beauty.

Sithonia

If tourists find active rest in Kassandra, then peace and tranquility reign in Sithonia, it is here that you should go for complete relaxation and unity with nature.

The best beaches in Sithonia

  • Kavurotripes it is considered a hard-to-reach beach (you need to go 23 km by car from Vourvourou to it), but this is also its value. This is one of the cleanest beaches on the entire Chalkidiki peninsula, more precisely - many beaches in small coves, with white sand, turquoise water heated in shallow water, and an absolute detachment from civilization.

  • Nikiti- an amazing village that will appeal to people with a wide variety of interests. Here you can see windmills, taste excellent Greek honey, find prehistoric fossils in the sand and lie on the Kalogria beach, admiring the small rocky islet in the bay just off the coast.

  • Akti Koviu- a secluded cove, which can be reached by going down a mountain path. You will hardly want to leave - the sea here is of a beautiful turquoise color, which, probably, cannot be found anywhere else in Halkidiki, is almost always calm and warm, and the Makednos hotel with a beach bar is located nearby.

  • Back in the early twentieth century in the town Neos Marmaros there was only a tiny fishing village, and now there is a large hotel complex PortoKarras, with two five-star hotels, a villa, a yacht pier and the largest thalassotherapy center in Southeast Europe. The beaches here, of course, are also at their best.

  • Kryphos Paradisos- "secret paradise", a nudist beach next to the crystal-clear bay of Tristenika. You are in Greece, where everyone will find the perfect place for themselves.

  • Armenistis Is one of the famous beaches of Sithonia, especially popular with young people. The entire beach is essentially one huge camping city with shops, taverns, bars, playgrounds and sports grounds, and even a cinema. And, of course, a cove with coarse sand and a quick entry into the sea.

If you decide to relax in Sithonia, then an excellent place to stay is Porto Carras Sithonia Hotel 5 *, a large family hotel with a large territory like a park and a magnificent sandy beach. The hotel even has its own golf course and yacht club. And those who want a more fun holiday can get to the village of Marmaras, where there is a club.

Athos

The third, eastern "finger" of Halkidiki is usually visited by those tourists who want to fully experience unity with God, since it is entirely devoted to religion.

However, this does not negate the fact that nature is magnificent here.

The most beautiful bays and beaches of Sithonia, and I'll tell you about them in this article. I will also lay out our route by car around the perimeter of Sithonia in Halkidiki - I cannot keep such beauty in myself.

The best sights are natural, the best rest is a periodic change of the picture, the best beach is a combination of rocky bays, sandy shores and azure water. For all this we go to Greece, on Sithonia peninsula which is on Halkidiki.

Don't be afraid of fame Halkidikov as a package tourist mecca. Organized tourists mostly gather on the neighboring finger - Kassandra. Sithonia is practically left at the mercy of independent travelers and it is in this part of Halkidiki that a scattering of the most beautiful Greek beaches, bays and coves is collected.

Information gathered from the personal experiences of two travel to Halkidiki, the advice of the locals with whom we stayed during these trips helped a lot.

The infrastructure of most places is limited by parking, often it is just an unpaved area or a place along the rocks or the sea. There is a beach bar and sun loungers almost everywhere. Sun loungers are free if you use the bar - just buy one or two drinks, the prices are the same as everywhere on the coast. Beer, of course, is more expensive than in the supermarket. Near some bays and beaches there are mobile cantinas - mini buffets where you can eat / drink and drink.

There are no hotels nearby, maximum camping, and often nothing at all. It is enough to move away from any of these places and you will find yourself alone even in the height of the season.

Vourvourou

Let's start from the northwest side of Sithonia, from the area called Vourvourou... Several small islands adjoin Vourvourou, near which there is Blue Lagoon... You can get to it by boat with a motor, rent a boat in a village on the coast - there is a wide choice, the price is 60-100 euros per day. The entire water area in the Vourvourou area deserves to come here on purpose and spend time on these islets. Take a supply of food and drinks with you. Plan the whole day.

In fact Vourvourou coast there are a couple of good restaurants by the sea, if there are plans for the evening.

Near Vourvourou there is a popular Karidi beach... It is worth visiting, if time permits, there is no infrastructure, nature - the sea and a pine forest. During the season, Karidi Beach is packed with people, so if you like privacy, come in September. However, this rule applies to almost the entire coast of Sithonia and Halkidiki.

Camping and Lacara Beach

Lakara beach- that very classic combination of sand, azure sea and picturesque rocks around. As in many beautiful places in Greece, there is a camping of the same name - Lakara. But everyone is allowed into the campground, the beach is free. You will have to pay if you want to leave the car on the campground - they have their own parking lot at the entrance. They let everyone in. Parking costs 5 Euro. There is no parking on the road.

There are not many people even in August, that is, enough to enjoy swimming and beach holidays, if you want to lie on the sand.

The campsite is inhabited mainly by Bulgarians, many have a whole farm with garden beds, TVs and the like.

Due to the fact that there is a camping on the beach and many people think that it is closed to outsiders, besides, it is not particularly noticeable from the road, there are not many people on the sea. If you get to Sitoia at the peak of the season, you can safely go to Lakara.

From Vourvourou to Lacara Beach 6 km.

Bahia bay and beach

After Lakar, after about three kilometers, there is a sign to Bahia beach... The beach is tiny and covered with rocks on all sides. You can drive straight to the sea on a dirt road, if you are careful, any car will pass. Parking is free.

You can climb the rocks and shoot the beach from above.

Orange Beach or Orange Beach (Portokali)

A real hippie-rastaman place on Halkidiki, very beautiful and just as popular.

Orange Beach- a compulsory program for organized tourists. They are brought in for a short time by boats to admire the natural beauty of the coast and the Portokali bay.

On the Portokali Beach anyone can pitch a tent for free. There are several cantinas, toilet and changing rooms in the public part of the beach.

The beach itself is divided into several parts, as if half an orange was laid flat side down and pressed on it. Only a small part of the beach is given over to sun loungers, which is packed with people even in September. I advise you to come here early in the morning and spend a couple of hours wandering the rocks and swimming.

On the left side Orange Beach there is a nudist beach about which guests are warned by a sign.

Platanitsi Beach

If you go along the main road along the coast, towards the sea at the eye level of the passenger of the car there will be an inconspicuous pointer to Platanitsi Beach... In fact, it is a large area with a camping site and a long beach with cliffs on the edges.

Anyone can enter the campground. In September, we did not pay for parking, it was deserted - the campsite is likely to be open until the end of August or, at the most, until the beginning of September.

The beach itself is about two hundred meters of light yellow sand, along the edges of the beautiful rocks and boulders. If you go over the rocks, you can find a couple more mini beaches for privacy. But there is almost always someone there and, as a rule, they are nudists.

Platonitsi Beach can be viewed from above. To do this, we leave the territory and move half a kilometer up the road. We see an observation deck and a mobile cantina (cafe). We make a mandatory stop and admire the views of the coast and the bay.

Ahlada Beach

After the beach Platanitsi there is very little left to Sarti. Myself Sarti- a boring tourist place, a haven for package tourists. So Sarti not included in my chart of the best beaches and coves. But before reaching Sarti there is an amazingly beautiful bay - Ahlada Beach... There are no pointers to it, or I just did not notice, so be guided by the Google map or Maps.me.

From the same point, a beautiful view of Mount Athos and sunrises opens up, since this is the east coast.

Platania Beach

We drive past the flat and long beach in Sarti without stopping and continue to the next bay - Platania Beach.

And right and left of the beach Platania Beach there are hiking trails along the cliffs along the sea. A long and scenic path leads from Platania Beach almost to Sarti beach - I recommend walking along it. I do not guarantee cleanliness near the path itself, as "savages" standing in tents go to the lavatory in the coastal bushes. But the views along the entire trail are simply magical.

Back to Platania beach along the same path. You can go in and see the only luxury goods Talizeti apartments - they have a steep territory, the price bites - 200-300 euros per season, there are never places in the summer.

Goa beach

Small and also sandwiched between rocks Goa beach named after the bar, which is the main attraction of this place. Black wood carvings, chairs with panoramic sea views and some sun loungers for the bar's customers. A very atmospheric place - it is worth stopping for at least an hour, having a cocktail or beer, swimming and moving on.

Tigania Beach

Tigania- perhaps the most secret Sithonia beach... At least we did not find him the first time, having got to repair the road, we took a detour and about an hour after leaving Goa beach parked on the sheer cliffs nearby.

To get to the beach Tigania Beach, first follow the signs or the map for the longer and more famous beach Krioritsi that starts right after Tigania Beach... Before reaching Krioritsi you need to look at the signs on the road itself, the name of the beach will be written on the asphalt - Tigania Beach, follow them, not forgetting to check the route with the maps on your smartphone.

The parking lot is upstairs, on the rocks, you can figure it out. Then we go down on foot to the beach itself.

Tigania Beach- these are three small beaches, a beach bar and umbrellas with thatched roofs, sun loungers - they are free for visitors and customers of the bar. If you want to lie down, buy a drink at the bar and use the sun lounger-umbrella for free. Such a system is found on all similar beaches in Halkidiki.

The easiest and most convenient way - you can order a taxi on the Internet in the now popular service - you will be met by a driver with a sign with your surname written on it. He will also take you to the bus station or to any place you wish.

We prefer to rent a car right at the airport and continue our journey by car. To find a car in Greece, we use this site- Here you can find the best local distributors, reasonable prices and understandable rental conditions, no nagging at delivery and a minimum of formalities when receiving a car.

Where to find cheap flights to Greece

I use a ticket search and booking site aviasales.ru, while there were no problems, I'm happy with everything. Use the low price calendar - it often saves me time.

Where to rent a car for traveling in Halkidiki

Without a car, it’s boring for us to sit in one place. To search for and rent a car in Greece, we use the site Myrentacar. Here local rental offices are united. The site also works in countries such as Georgia, Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Montenegro. They have proven themselves well during our travels in Cyprus, Georgia and Montenegro. Prices are slightly lower than for rentalkars, cars are different, there are options without a security deposit and of course free cancellation. I recommend this site if you are traveling in Greece, Cyprus, Montenegro or Georgia.
