The urban-type settlement Verkhnyaya Sinyachikha is located a few kilometers from Alapaevsk. More than 200 years ago, the Mansi (Voguls) lived here, a river flowed, next to which a dam was built and, as usual, an iron factory worked. Since the 18th century, Sinyachikha has supplied iron to Moscow, St. Petersburg and England.
Fields remained in the place of the once cut woodlands. The open-air museum of wooden architecture is located in the native spaces. Until now, Sinyachikha carefully preserves its treasures: mills, churches, chapels, left over from their ancestors, watchtowers... But among the old sights I would like to name the modern one. This is the Alapaevsk Central District Hospital (ACRH). Why is it located in Verkhnyaya Sinyachikha? Because in Alapaevsk itself there is already a city hospital.
The district hospital is 70 years old. From the outside, the building is unremarkable. But it can be seen that inside there is a continuous renewal of it. How much money? From the municipal budget! For the local administration, healthcare is a priority, doctors do not offend with money and they fulfill almost all their requests. This is what the head physician of the clinic, Seyran Perjikovich KOSYAN, told us, he is also a deputy of the regional Duma, he is also a talented surgeon.
- I have been working in Sinyachikha since 1986, I arrived on assignment. It used to be a local hospital. But when the question arose about the formation of an ADRC on its basis, I wanted to do something unusual in the village. In 1999 the ophthalmology department was organized. The Ministry of Health met. At first, doctors from Yekaterinburg came to us, then we trained our ophthalmologist. At the moment he is a star!
It was to the operating ophthalmologist surgeon Pavel Gubin that a group of journalists from the VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation press service arrived, having overcome 70 km off-road. I really wanted to see the new Japanese ophthalmological microscope in operation, which the Corporation presented to the Alapaevskaya regional hospital.

Now the 72-year-old man will have his cataract removed and the lens of his eye replaced. Let's explain some medical terms... Cataract is a clouding of the lens that prevents the passage of light rays into the eye and leads to decreased visual acuity. In Sinyachikha, we witnessed how, thanks to modern medicine and in the golden hands of the doctor, a man who had previously only distinguished silhouettes, after the operation saw all the colors of the world with one hundred percent vision.
The eye is magnified 12 times under a microscope. Phacoemulsification is the name of the treatment method. this is when a cataract (cloudy lens) is removed with the help of ultrasound with a special device. It is crushed and sucked off through a puncture only two millimeters wide. Unlike the old technique, where a 15 mm incision was used, such a puncture does not require sealing with sutures, shortens the healing time to five days and avoids complications.
Sterile cleanliness around, the operating room has been repaired, the tiles shine, the new windows shine. Funds from the local budget for repairs are not accidental. In the regional Duma, four out of 15 deputies are doctors. Now it is clear how the impossible became possible. In the district hospital, renovated according to European standards children's department, emergency room, ambulance, operating room and most importantly - the dining room!
It is known that the patient is more likely to recover if he is in a comfortable environment and has good food. Diet cereals in the morning, compotes, jelly and fresh meat from local villages for lunch and dinner. Here you can even indulge in ice cream: not frozen meat, but ice cream, popsicle, creme brulee.
But back to the operating room. The lens replacement surgery takes 20 minutes. It is important to strictly adhere to the sequence, a sharp surgical instrument is required, and a microscope with good optics is also needed - the one that the Corporation donated.
The microscope is controlled by Pavel Yuryevich Gubin, a surgeon who has made five thousand successful operations. The doctor is outwardly calm, but the inner tension is still felt. His gaze is riveted to the eyepiece, his head makes an accurate mathematical calculation, his hands make jewelry movements, and an ophthalmologist's reaction should be like a sapper's. After all, there are usually elderly people on the table, with a bunch of diseases, and sometimes the doctor has to make instant decisions.
We are closely following the progress of the operation. The author of these lines was allowed to look through the microscope. Cloudy lens white clearly visible. The operation is done under local anesthesia. The anesthesiologist is nearby. Vladimir Ivanovich KIREEV, head of the intensive care unit, reads the anamnesis (medical biography) of the patient:

Depending on the stage of the operation, the microscope is adjusted to a different magnification. The hands are occupied, so the microscope and phacoemulsifier are controlled during the operation using foot pedals. All instruments are microsurgical. The idea of \u200b\u200bthe device is to roll the lens into a tube and pass it through a two-millimeter puncture. It should be noted that the patient only pays 800 rubles for the lens.
